Coming from a family of medical doctors, I took a different route in life.  In school and university I learned business and languages instead of medicine.  I chose to indulge myself with the corporate world and it is what I greatly enjoy.  Along the way I have been playing musical instruments for the greater part of my life.

I Started playing the piano at age 8 and wasn't until age 11 that I discovered the guitar.  The tonal spectrum took me by surprise and I have been hooked ever since.  I still believe to this day that there is no other instrument capable of producing the sounds that a guitar can.  Music has always been a big part of my life and I incorporate it into my daily activities.  In my teenage years, I didn't have anyone to play with so, I taught my younger cousins to play basic songs so I can exercise my skills atop of the melody.  Helping my family learn to play guitar was my first experience with teaching.  Even now, the ones that learned from me have kept up the knowledge and greatly appreciate what I taught them.  Most importantly to their success was how I taught them.  I made every lesson a fun and enjoyable one so they would motivate themselves to go further.

I've played live shows in front of hundreds of people.  I can play styles of all sorts, including: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Flamenco, Spanish, New Age, etc.  I've been tutoring for the past 4 years and have been teaching guitar for nearly 8 years.

I am very pleased that I have an opportunity to start a company that is dedicated to assisting individuals to prosper in life.

Background:
Coming from a family of engineers, I too became an engineer.  I exhaustively studied throughout college through the various difficult engineering courses, and have had more than my fair share of all nighters, running on nothing but fumes and caffeine to get in the last minute project.  It was truly in college that I came to appreciate the effectiveness of tutoring, experiencing the frustration of being in the dark, only  to sit down with someone who has been through it for everything to suddenly make sense.  Having been through "the trenches", I get a sense of satisfaction from helping people through theirs.

In my college years, I started tutoring local high school and Jr. High students in their mathematics studies.  Since then I have gone on to tutor many other students in Math of the same level.  I also branched off and began tutoring in Computer Science level classes and helping various people with programming assignments.  Over the last 6 years, I've taught students as young as 13 and as old as 45, from levels of education pre-high school to phd.

After graduating UCLA, I've committed my last 2 years to working full time at a mobile software start-up mSpot where I rapidly expanded my engineering skills under a fast pace and highly demanding environment.  Tutoring/teaching has always been a passion for me and I'm excited to start SMART with one of my long time childhood friends!

Education:
Bachelors of Science from UCLA in EECS (electrical engineering with computer science specialty).  2 minors from UCLA: Spanish and Philosophy.
